Navigation and USB problem on brand new 370z!!

First of all I gotta say I'm kind of disappointed. I've had the car for 3 days and I'm having a couple of issues. I'm hoping someone here can provide some insight before I take it back to the dealer tomorrow. Here are the 2 issues..

1. Navigation system only finds some of the streets I put in as destinations. On 3 occasions it hasn't found the address and I had to use the gps on my phone. Quite disappointing to say the least. Anyone ever had this happen and is it something as simple as an update from the dealer??

2. For the first couple of days my iPod worked fine. Now it says, "check USB memory or iPod" and won't play. I found 1 person with a similar issue by seearching and he said Nissan has a software update for it but only for the roadster. The won't install it on the coupes navi, so they are replacing the whole unit. I don't know about you guys but I don't feel comfortable with the deAlership tearing apart the dash on a brand new car. Anyone else have this issue??

Any input or thoughts are much appreciated. Thanks!

1. Haven't had that problem at all. Every address I've looked for has been found so far, even the ones that are fairly new (within 2 years). I'm guessing it's just bad luck in the area you've been looking in. Update will probably fix that whenever one is available, don't expect it to be free though.

2. I've had this happen a few times where it say "Check USB memory or ipod" etc. It usually goes away after turning the car on/off, however, one time it still persisted, so I ended up having to restore my ipod to factory and then it worked again. Hasn't happened lately though.

1. I've had this problem a couple of times and have found 2 causes. First, as noted above newer neighborhoods and addresses are often not part of the map database. Second, I have noticed that the unit is very picky about the city an address is in. In my area there is Augusta, Martinez, Evans and Grovetown. A single street may run through 2 or 3 of these cities. If I tell it to look in Martinez but the house happens to be in Augusta the unit will not find it.

2. I have had some sound problems with my ipod but not the problem you are having.

I took it to the dealer this morning and apparently they have never had any other 370z come in with this problem..(go figure)

Im going back Wednesday morning first thing so a tech can look at it. I will probably end up getting a whole new unit which doesn't really make me feel better about the situation. Like i said in my first post... doesn't make me very happy that my brand new 4 day old car is going to have the dash ripped apart. :(

Ill keep this post updated with the outcome.

restored my iPod back to original and re-synced all the songs... works now.

Yup restoring and resyncing seems to be the fix for that... what kind of ipod are you using? I have a 4th gen iPod nano. I'm wondering if this happens to all versions.

There is always aftermarket :p :stirthepot: :koolaidwall:

what do you mean by restoring the ipod? and resyncing?

When connected to iTunes you can do a restore to factory on there which should wipe out all the things currently on your ipod and then just resync it to get all the songs back.

duuude i have had both of those problems. for me, in austin, it didn't find an addy because it was listed in cedar park or some ****. so you just have to, when selecting the location, don't chose the city as austin, tx, but instead tell it to find the addy in nearby location. is yours really not finding common addresses in austin proper? cuz yeah that would be weird!
i have had that ipod problem twice, and all i have to do is unplug it from the usb and then plug it back in, then it's all good. i don't even have to restart the car or anything. i did have a weird situation yesterday where the car bluetooth wouldn't allow me to hang up the phone, even after the phone was actually hung up. had to turn the car off to restart it and make bluetooth hang up. weeeiiiird! but no biggie.

I dont even pick the city. I just start typing in the address then it automatically pulls up 4 or 5 matches and none of them are even CLOSE to what im looking for. It's happened twice so far.

As for the bluetooth... haven't had any issues with it. Works great actually. Can't really say enough about the car besides im in love with it. Day after i bought it i got the windows tinted. I have H&R springs and 25mm/20mm Ichiba spacers coming. Next will be Stillen G3 intakes, high flow cats and fast intentions exhaust. Then uprev tune = done. It's my daily driver so i don't want to get TOO crazy with it.
