I love the stealth look - the last we need is the car getting broken into - as well as the utility of this setup.
So is it okay to put carpet over the sub like this? I was assuming we'd have to do some kind of thick air/permeable mesh... Thanks for the writeup and photos! |

There is someone on here who did make such an enclosure. It only had .33cu ft of air space which made it only suitable for an 8" sub.
I thinks its a huge compromise between an 8" and 13" sub. 8's dont move that much air and power handling is very limited. Granted a good JL 8" sub will be a huge improvement over the factory sub. |

The shop that did the work is Radioactive here where I live. The # is 931-455-6491. They can give you better details on what they did. Also I read about you all wanting to know how it sounds with the carpet over it. It may be muffeled a little but I can pull the carpet off and turn it on and you can't tell a difference. Beleive me the bass is more than enough to make it through some thin carpet.

That looks fantastic. I have an old W3v1 in my tC and it really doesn't look like it'd fit in a potential Z. 2 grand seems a bit much for me though, but I could probably cut some good costs using my existing 250w JL amp. I really like how clean it is and how it doesn't really affect the trunk at all.

In case someone else comes on here and is also interested, here is a link to the web site: Custom Sub Enclosure | Affordable Sub Box ... and here is the blog that mentioned the deal: http://www.the370z.com/audio-video/3...ures-370z.html I hope that helps someone in the future, Dennis |
