I have the Z110, which is the same as the Z120 but I have not done the software update. You should not need any kit. Here are pictures:

looks like a clean fit!

theDreamer 07-28-2010 10:16 AM

It is very clean, all I need to do right now is order that update from Pioneer so I can be running the Z120 software.
And if you want to go all out one day, you can do this. ;)

You do not need one as from what I have seen and read.

My installer said there are problems when trying to display Video while driving? do you know of this?

He said that moving a pin in the harness doesn't always work.

Pioneers have a tricky bypass when it comes to the video. Some of the models by moving the pins to a blank one and grounding that wire will allow you to see video when in motion. Others need a PAC TR-77 bypass module.

here is a video of the Z120 bypass

Some actually have a software bypass as well.

i had the z120bt installed and they used a dash kit -- i dont see how i could attach the z120 to the dash without the kit. any info would be appreciated as i would like to redo it without the kit so it looks cleaner. thanks.

Do you have a base or touring 370z?

shawnguess 08-03-2010 01:42 PM

base

theDreamer 08-03-2010 01:48 PM

With a base you just pull out the stock radio, slide in the Z110 or z120 and screw it in, fairly easy swap for that part and the stock opening pairs up nicely.

shawnguess 08-03-2010 08:19 PM

great, thanks for the info. its very obvious now that you say it, but for some reason my mind was blank when i looked at it before. got it swapped, looks great.

Nice, clean setup! I'm looking into this after my headlights are done.

Flyboy 08-04-2010 08:22 AM

Absolutly LOVE my Z now. It was lacking all the Gadget's, but with the Z120BT, It now has everything I could ask for.

I got rid of that base CD player with less than 300 miles on the car. I like having the NAV, and other features The NISMO came without.
