Just got my letter and I drive a coupe. So, looks like they took note of the millions of iPhone users !

Hey my wife just handed me my letter. I guess Nissan moved on to the coups Now

Update

Received my letter from Nissan last week (2010 coupe). Took into the dealer last Thursday and it took him about an hour to completet the update. Unfortunatley, nothing has changed.. Iphone (3Gs) with with new 4.02 software still does not work! Nissan and Apple need to go back to the drawing board on this one...

Jeffblue 08-23-2010 11:19 AM

i have the 3gs with the original operating system. will this fix my inability to download my phonebook into the car?

chi7ook 08-23-2010 11:57 AM

Iphone

JeffBlue,
Don't have a good answer for you concerning being able to download phonebook to Nav system since my Iphone is no longer recognized by my cars Nav system (check USB connection is all I get). Previous to downloading Apples 4.0 software, my Iphone worked fine with my cars system. I think that's the most fustrating thing about this whole situation..:icon23: DB

Jeffblue 08-23-2010 12:02 PM

Hmm, i haven't downloaded the new OS yet, and i don't plan to. i woudln't be surprised if what nissan thinks of as the 'new' iphone software, is not really the new OS anymore.

Has anyone done this yet? Does it delete you music stored on you HD?

you actually had the patience to do that? i did 2 CD's, then lost interest. its such a bad method of music transfer. It should be able to copy music from an external source via usb

OK, so I don't know what any problems were before but I can tell you what it does after the upgrade:

(1) Music - As soon as you plug in the device, the iPhone 4 pops up an error message talking about incompatibility and might not work correctly (however it said it). It shows the playlists, songs, albums, etc. You can browse any of those and it shows the songs. As soon as you click to play a song, it returns to the playlists again. No matter what you choose a song from, it does it. Will not play a song.

(2) Phone - Bluetooth. The nav unit sends out its signal ( "MY CAR") and the iPhone 4 sees it (had to turn bluetooth on). Entered the code and the phone connected. It showed the phone book and pronounced the names as you scrolled through them. Called out with touches and it worked fine. Called out by voice and it worked fine. Had wife call me while driving and it worked fine.

So, that's the update. I don't know what it was doing before--I just got my iPhone 4 3 weeks ago and I already read that it didn't work and didn't try it.

Guys this might be a very long shot, but I recently updated to OS 4 on my 3GS and had the same issues that you guys are getting, but my 350z has a Pioneer 4100 DVD HU in it. I found a post on another forum that had a fix. It may or may not work on the 370z HU but might be worth someone trying as it worked for me!

You basically switch the iphone off, then hook up the iphone to the car (with the car's power on), then do a hard reset on the phone - hold down both the sleep/lock button and home button for ten seconds, then reboot the phone and hey presto! As I said, may or may not work on the 370z!

Let me know if it works as picking my 370 up on Thursday!

chippy 09-08-2010 02:18 PM

To save you the hassle i picked my Z up tonight - the hard reset fix doesn't work
