What would be the pros and cons of installing the PIONEER AVIC kit on the spare compartment above the audio slot?

I've a Pioneer AVIC installed on my Z and I must admit, I find it ergonomically disappointing to having to look down and manage the console while on the go.

Any tips on how my setup can/could be improved?

Did you lose your steering wheel controls when you upgraded? If so try this:

Steering wheel control with Pioneer?

Yes. The Bluetooth/phone buttons to the left no longer worked.

Someone in that thread was able to retain their phone functions, you may want to PM them to see what they did.
