Default Factory NAV ....

Hi,

my nav gets in next week... I have read ppl's install posts..

I tried to search for this info but not much luck....

I am curious as to where the factory NAV's antenna is mounted and the mic for the BT is mounted.

Does anyone know the location of these 2 in the factory NAV?

Thanks,
Jay

You do not use your factory ones you use the new ones that come with your new head unit.

I am not trying to use the factory mic / antenna... I didnt have them. I got a base model!

I am trying to figure out the location of the factory mic / nav to see if it will be feasible to do the install in the same place.

Thanks,

Your not going to the antenna is integrated into the z's with the nav installed and the mic is alos integrated along with the bose system and you would need the bose amps and other stuff. It has been talked about and is not worth it.

thanks Matt, so the factory gps antenna and the mic are not visible in the car?

I was just trying to learn different possible locations that I might be able to use for the mic and the gps antenna.

If you are using a aftermarket head unit the gps antenna I install is in the right side of the dash by the tweeter using the metal adhesive pad. The mic is on the left top of te pillar.

If you are trying to install the factory nav than both are integrated into the car when you buy it and can not be install later. Maybe the mic can but not the antenna.
