I know i'm a audio dummy because i don't know what your saying with going or not going active.

cookZmonster 03-12-2011 12:11 AM

I am sure Matt is referring to active vs. passive crossovers. Don't worry he had to explain it to me as well ;) I'm PRETTY sure the only "test driving" will be done by me also lol.

Well ok maybe once the alignment is perfect and the corner balancing has been completed I will let Matt and Mike give it a go, just have to see how amazing the sound system is first jk ;)

LinPark 04-07-2011 06:00 PM

Any updates? I'm getting low on drool lately and want to make sure I'm stocked up for when the real results and pics arrive. :yum: :yum: :yum:

bigaudiofanat 04-07-2011 08:39 PM

Will have new pics up soon. Both of us have been busy.

cookZmonster 04-27-2011 11:14 PM

Things have been going really slowly lately, with updates far and few between. I am sure both Mike and Matt have good reasons for the delays, but every nice day that passes me by without my Z is making me want it more and more. I am sure they will update here when there is something to update.

LinPark 04-28-2011 09:12 AM

Hang in there dude - it will all be worth it once the final product is delivered!

cookZmonster 04-29-2011 12:52 AM

I am sure you are right, it's not their fault I bought the car in March of 2010, and have been waiting the vast majority of the time for performance enhancements to be done before I could even consider the audio.. anyway, I am still very excited about it :)

cookZmonster 05-22-2011 12:06 PM

Should have the car back Tuesday or Wednesday next week. I am excited to see what the guys have come up with :)

xohmx 05-26-2011 02:59 PM

That car looks amazing! Hope everything works out for you in the audio department.

In for updates also :-)

cookZmonster 07-05-2011 09:13 PM

Quick update everyone! Matt (bigaudiofanat) was willing to travel to my location here (about 8 hours) on his own time and on his own dime to help take care of my audio system. I would give anything to find customer service like that in any of the other industries and businesses that I own and work with, much respect to him! He spent EIGHT days working to make things right for me here and I couldn't have asked for a better person to do it. We had lots of delays and slow downs during the process including everything from UPS mis-deliveries, to dishonest people to "out-of-stock" problems but Matt was a trooper. He willingly missed his GF's birthday AND his own birthday to be here working on my system. There are a few loose ends to button up and I am looking forward to the fully finished masterpiece. With Matt's permission I (and he) will be sharing some pics but I want to make sure I have everything in order before I start posting all of his hard work. More details and updates to come :)

Probably still in his car driving/listening to the sick tunes.

bigaudiofanat 09-16-2011 07:47 AM

Ok Finally had the owner send the pics over. Now keep in mind I am heading back for a stage 2 for a second amp rear speakers and a second battery including a bigger alternator.
There was a sub installed as well and hertz speakers we should have some pics soon of those as well. We will also be relocating the tweeters to run on axis with some fiberglass work. There will be a custom cover made for the amp as well. Enjoy!

Awesome work - looks good so far! And great pics!

Big, I've got a new Audison LRx 5.1k coming in as well for my own build; will that amp fit in the space the JBL process is in?

I'm planning on running the onboard xover on the Audison to run active raw drivers up front with (for now) no signal processing.

bigaudiofanat 09-16-2011 03:40 PM

It will be CLOSE you could probably get away with it. Just use some in and out circulation fans to help with heat.

optiontrader 09-16-2011 09:17 PM

Good deal  I'll plan for that - thanks!

And yep, I was planning on at least one fan (with intake vent holes on the other side).
