NTFS is newer than fat32. You system should be able to read that as well

Yup, I'm pretty sure you can only play videos from a device with a video out and not from the USB port

I had trouble getting my 2010 Nissan Maxima (Premium and Technology packages) to accept my MP3 player. I, too, received the "check USB memory or ipod" message. I found this thread while googling the problem. I formatted my Sansa Fuze to FAT32 and I have my own music in my car now! Thank you ~ thank you ~ thank you!!!

USB Thumb drive needs periodic re-connection
I use a usb thumb drives (8 Gbytes, fat32 and MP3 files) on my 370Z with Navi. The top level folders are albums and mp3 files reside within them) and all works great...except that periodically (once every couple of days) I get a no USB device found error. This is remedied by un-plugging and then re-connecting the thumb drive. Most of the time the error occurs when I switch to the USB device from the radio or hard drive, but on some rare cases, the disconnect happens between songs. I have tried a couple of different makes of USB drives with no improvment.
Anybody else have this issue and if so, any remedies? I understand that there is a Nissan update for the NAVI sound system's firmware but have been unable to find any info on that update. Is there any method to copu contents of a thumb drive onto the NAVI's hard drive? |

I didn't have any of those issues when I used a flash drive. Not sure if the update by Nissan will have any effect (the letter acts as if it's just to update for the iPhone 4).
I think I asked the question about the hard drive in the system and I believe the answer was the ONLY way to get songs to the HD was via playing a CD.

Hi ,
I play videos on my MY2010. 1. The USB device is formatted in FAT32 2. The videos are .avi, the format is MP4 (Divx). I tryed with some other formats and it didnt work. So you have eventually to convert your videos to a divx format. I use the freeware "any video converter" for this. Good luck |
