Default PAC SWI-JACK kit wiring & programming is impossible, SOS

I have a Kenwood DNX-5120 installed and I need to know exactly how to wire the PAC kit, then program it. I have read the instructions from Pac and it's pretty confusing, if anyone has installed the Pac kit successfully, please let me know how you installed it, thanks Rep+ to whoever helps.

i think the hardest part was figuring out which wires to use/not use.. and soldering the resistors seems like it take like four hands...

Did you try reading the sticky?

Ya that's just a copy of the PAC instructions which I've been told are not 100% accurate. did you install the Pac-Swi-Jack yourself?

first make sure you got one that works with your HU manufacturer. there are a few types.

then follow the instructions step by step and make sure you solder your connections. yes taps can work, but those resistor leads can slip out unless you have a decent crimper. even though im a crimper type, for this process i soldered the leads.

As soon as my GT-R push button comes in I'm going to try it again & read each step slowly. My friend & I actually installed the kenwood unit and everything is perfect except for the PAC so I'm trying to gather as much info as I could. We got to the part where you are suppost to either press or hold?, one of the steering wheel buttons and the little led is suppost to come back on, but it didn't. I wish there were pics on this, if we figure it out, I'm making it a d.I.y I swear.

that sounds like maybe an issue with one of your connections.. maybe double check that and make sure your resistors are wired properly.. maybe also check the your resistors are "resisting" the right amount of ohms with a multimeter.

yah, there is a step in there to program it, but if the LED didn't respond chances are you tapped the wrong wire, used the wrong resistor, or you got a loose wire.

I won't be much help, but I had the PAC and hated it with a passion. I just installed a Metra ASWC and it is fabulous. No delay in response time and it autoprograms also.

The white wire from the SWI-JACK will connect to both resistors. These two resistors then connect to the pink and blue wires in the car.
•Pin 16 (blue wire) uses 150 ohm resistor.
•Pin 6 (Pink) uses a 47 ohm resistors.
•Pin 15 (black) is grounded.
DO NOT cut the loops.
Black wire to ground, red wire to switched power.

ON the other side, connect the yellow and green/blue(can't remember which) to the remote wire on the Kenwood. You won't use the plug for your Kenwood.Tape it up.

They are 1/4 watt. Per PAC, 1/2 watt will work.

I almost was gonna switch the PAC kit out for the metra kit, but then I would have had to return the PAC, & buy the little USB upgrade cord while I lost money along the way. How bad can the PAC really be?

i used another brand than PAC that BestBuy had at my local store... Peripheral or something it was called. the wiring was exactly the same though with the PAC.

no delay either.

btw, just a FYI.... BestBuy price matches if you bring a print-out of a deal you found elsewhere online. i usually bring print outs from amazon and some ebay stores and they match it.

i was told that peripheral, and PAC are basically all the same thing was just a different name. but the metra axxis is a whole different module. OP, i still have yet to rip apart my dash again and figure out what 2 wires they tapped into.
