Ideas on how to best hide the 3.5mm AUX cable coming out of stock/base stereo?
Anyone have any ideas on how to best hide the 3.5mm AUX cable I'll be plugging into the front of the stock base radio, and then running probably running towards the center arm rest?
I figured a "right angle" cable would stick out less. Anyone know of any thin or low-profile cables? Suggestions? |

could you use for example the ipod adapter that BMW/Mini uses???
https://www.outmotoring.com/images/P/MM_ipodintermd.jpg I installed this my self on the mini, and as far as i can tell from it (i am not electrical engieer), you are replacing four wires on the main radio harness. Signal, power, ground, and what i assume is controls. so since these four cables exist really in any radio, it should be possible, right?? this is the best thing in the world, you connect the ipod throw it in the glove box and forget about it for 3 years, it charges and you control it from the radio. kit is $250.00 |
As the original OP of this thread, I love that it's gone 100% off topic :wtf2:
Having said that, I purchased one of these: http://valley-ent.com/pics/214196_3612.jpg and after plugging it into the base stereo and running the cable towards the right leather knee brace panel, and then afterwards, behind that panel, and along the bottom of the inside of the panel that separates the two seats, I'm pretty happy. You can only see about 2" of wire, that looks like it belongs there, does not stick out at all, period. I'll take a pic and share when I get a chance. I use this with my iPhone, and I listen to a lot of podcasts and other material that is constantly updated/downloaded from online/iTunes. Otherwise, the idea of an AUX connector with controls, and throwing an ipod into the glovebox, would be great. EDIT: Here's the pic: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...ages/photo.jpg |
I wonder if there's an AUX behind the HU?

I know at least one person has pulled their HU on here. I wonder if they can tell us. |
