Curious about this too. I went with the PAC SWS for Pioneer and there's a slight lag on the steering wheel controls now but on the other hand, it allows you to customize button functions which is nice.

The interior looks a million times better with the factory nav. Ive seen them with the aftermarket units and it just looks cheap to me

I recommend the Kenwood DNX9990HD. The functionality and features of the unit are amazing and in my opinion out perform the factory nav. I used to be obsessed with the clean lines and look of the factory nav but with time have grown to love the aftermarket look. I feel the fabricated systems where a screen is put in to replace the cubby also looks odd.
