Components without sub
If you wanted component speakers (powered by an amp), but did not want a subwoofer. Which component speakers would you choose?
|
I would choose the Image Dynamics CXS I installed a set of these in California and the next day we installed the sub. During the ride around with just these being powered by a alpine pdx5 bridged channels, they sounded great and lots of full bass to boot even before the sub went in.

The CXS is a great choice. What is your budget? I can think of a few that would work great. Just as important as the speakers however is properly deadening the doors. By covering and sealing all the openings on teh inside of the door panel it almost creates an enclosure that will improve low end response.

$400 is the most I would want to spend.

Is that just for the components or do you need an amp too? Im local and can give you a hand. I actually have this amp new that Id let go for 260 which would give you a ton of power for your comps.
Q 700.2 - Image Dynamics 2-Channel 700 Watt Amplifier |
As far as componets with a ton of midbass I would run either of these. Both very well built.
TS-C720PRS - Pioneer Premier 6.75" Component Speaker System Amazon.com: KICKER SS65.2 - Car speaker - 100 Watt - 2-way - component: Electronics The kickers have an amzing tweeter. that price is great, I paid near 400 for a set 2 years ago |
