Thumbs up Elemental Designs Amplifier Sale!!!

Hey guys, I saw NINE.2 and NINE.4 amps on sale so I bought a pair of NINE.2 amps for my 2.1ch setup in the 370Z. Hopefully I can get them to fit, but the deal is too good to pass! This was on my wishlist, so I pretty much saved almost $200 from this deal.

Right now I'm debating between a single and double magnet sub (e3 vs. e5). My Z33 had a 10W3-D2, and it performed very well. The 12" setup will make it less punchy and add some depth, so I may be satisfied with a single magnet sub. :shrugs: Anyhow, I'll probably wait to see if they have sales for these subs.

My experience has been a 12 being better in every way over a 10. I had a killer system in my 350z and a JL audio 10 W3v2 and it was pretty tight and punchy but I upgraded to a 12W3v2 and it was night and day difference.

The 12 hit much lower and it kicked twice as hard. It souded the same in pitch and definition but much, much more output. I drove it with a 250 watt JL Amp. (No need for more power my friend) This was the perfect combo for a Z.

Dont bother with the JL 12W6v2. I bought one for my Armada as an upgrade to the 12W3v2 (which I put in the Z) and it doesent sound as good as the W3v2. It hits a little lower and little lowder but its not as tight and defined. Definitely not worth the extra dough!

Agreed. The setup in my Z33 was a single 10W3v2 and a 200W Alpine. The sub was mounted in the stock Bose location. Bass was tight and provided punchy kicks for classic songs as well as deep bass (as deep a 10" could produce) for hip hop and electronica.

For the Z34, I'm looking for something different without going overboard with the budget (minus the HU haha). I'm going to give eD a shot, so I bought a matching pair of NINE.2 through this deal. One will power the front components, and the other will be bridged to power a single sub. I would also like to drop in a 12" sub since I've had a 10" in my car since high school (well, 15" Kicker classic at one time... overkill). It'll be an eD sub as well just to match things up. Plus, it'll be something totally new and drastic from my JL/Alpine days.

For the headunit, it'll be the Kenwood DDX812/814. It has great audio adjustments including 13-band EQ and crossover.

ED Makes some great stuff, just be careful you dont put them in an enclosed space.

I had 4...THATS RIGHT 4. of their amps fry because they run extremely hot and they were in a custom built box...ED's excuse, "your airflow is bad, its not our fault"

Just an FYI. Although normally, I hear that they have great customer service.

Thanks for the heads up! BTW, do these Class AB amps simply get hot even when there is no signal applied?

According to my sketches, the amps will be mounted on the slanted back end (or "wing") of the wedge box facing towards the strut bar. It'll be fairly exposed as the sub side will be flushed with the strut tower side without getting in the way of the spare tire. Well... that's the theory at the moment :P
