NAV System Map Upgrade

Hi guys, do you know how to do this? Firmware upgrades?

A quick google search will take you to NAVTEQ - Maps for your Nissan Navigation System.

There is a $99 fee to upgrade the maps on your 2009 Z.

I thought there was a way for you to burn a DVD and upgrade the firmware/maps.

I called Nissan and my dealer, and they said for the 2009 370Z, it uses the HDD system. The only thing you get from the website I linked earlier is a code. You take that code to your Nissan dealer, and they hook it up to their "C3" computer, use a master disk and update the informatio on your navigation system.

My dealer said that it was a $125 fee from their side to get into my HDD system on my Z, so I would be looking at $225 to upgrade my NAV. Not sure I really want to spend that much money doing it....

That is crazy. Infiniti charges me $59 and advise they will do the Z for the same price.

Take this, fold it up, and stick it in your CD slot:

It will work, trust me....

btw, another trick i figured out, since the Z has only one cup holder, if you need to carry more water with you on long trips, just pour the water in the water tank!

Why the sarcastic post? I thought OP (Original Poster) had a legitimate question.

Good luck OP. Yes, This is one of the drawbacks (IMO) of OEM navs. For aftermarket navs, this is usually free download from the manufacturers website.

Thanks,

I remember reading in the manual that you just put in a DVD... I am sure it is there!

I know the Australian models have the dvd, they don't have the hard drive setup as you guys in the US. So I believe for us it is a simple mater of obtaining the updated disk.
