I'm with AK370Z. I will be happy to trade you my touring Bose and road noise damping for WOT and the tunes that come with it. That's why my 50 year old sports cars are the hoot to drive. The sounds they make on the road are the real music.

I enjoy the sound of the engine for sure, but the Bose system sounds good enough. Anyone who had cars made in the 80's and 90's knows just how terrible stock systems can be. This one ain't all that bad(in the Touring at least).

3.7 liter engine + Ark Grip exhaust = music to my ears

I've listened to the Bose maybe 4 times, i have upgraded system in my G35, so engine/exhaust sound system good enough for me.

To be honest, I'm glad Nissan cheaped out on the base model because it saves money on the end product and I'll rip it out anyway. The Bose actually sounded worse to me a( little muddy, probably do to poor quality 6x9 speakers).

Also, I love the fact the stock headunit is a direct replace double din. It takes all of an hour to replace it with an aftermarket double din HU + nav. So happy Nissan doesn't do what some manufacturers like Honda do and put some 3 foot wide unit that include audio + clock + glovebox + climate controls.

Why would nissan put such as a cheap _ss systen in what to me is really

hand held radio. Sorry for the vent just wanted to get it off my chest. know what my first mod is.
I wouldnt call the Z a world class sports car but a nice sports car for the money. And the stereo is on standard for the car and with most stock stereos for most cars. There really arent too many stock stereos that would satisfy a person who really wants great sounds in the car.

Having some time to crank my radio on this last trip to Vegas...(and granted, I'm not really "in the know" as far as stereos go..) but I actually enjoy my Tourings Bose/Nav stereo thingy bopper I was cranking Hinder pretty loudly and it sounded good to me

The Bose isn't bad, but the base could and should be better. Frankly, the touring should be better too (for instance the 2010-11 Mustang 500W system is far superior, and the 1000W is just in a different stratosphere).

I agree with the sentiment that this is a sports car, and road noise is something I enjoy. The VQ makes a delightful growl.

But I can also understand touring owners being upset if that Bose system isn't living up to the extra cost. I wouldn't know. Mine is base. I didn't even turn the radio on during test drives.

car stereos get better with every year and will never satisfy people. A car company isnt going to put 1000w stereos in stock cars as many people wouldnt want to pay for it. The younger crowd likes loud while the older crowd wants quality over volume and for the most part Bose does this without busting ear drums. Now I put a 400 watt amp to a 8 in woof in the back and it improved the sound greatly without over powering the stock system. The Bose is good for what it was designed to do, give good quality sound at a moderate volume.

Yea..having an upgraded exhaust sounds better than the radio, but the stock exhaust is BORING. I do prefer a nice sounding stereo tho as I don't leave my windows down much..I can hear the VQ sound with the windows up now
And yea, the cd's sound much better than stereo
