Scosche IPad in Car Prototype Mount - Video
Scosche is showing off their first iPad Mount for a car protoype in this video. This would be perfect for the upper cubby!

Another mounting solution by some german company.

Nice and sold. Hope they come out with it on the 370.

Nice but I dont live in the car I just drive it. My pioneer does everything I need it to and some. Nice concept though, maybe for like a truck driver.

:shakes head: There is no anti-glare screen on the iPad, yet. The German-made mount should be used by the authorities, after being pulled over, to beat the driver over the head for being so stupid as to blocking that much windshield vision. Sorry, but what actually ever happened to concentrating on driving an automobile? What occurs during an accident when the iPad is easily ejected from these hokey mounts?

nice...rather have it to be able to be integrated into the cubby to make it semi stock looking.

Necessary? Yes. More than you need? Yes. Cool anyway? Definitely?
|
This mount is even dumber than the iPad itself...
|
I am sorry the mount looks so gay and cheesy, remins me of something you would sue on a motorcycle to hold something.
|
i think the ipad is pretty much only good for if your desktop is in the corner, your laptop is at the foot of your bed, you're watching tv and too lazy to move to pick it up.
|
I don't like it! The fact that you have a huge cord sticking out the side ruins it for me. It needs to be built into the dash as an integrated component of the car, otherwise its like having a gps hanging from the windshield.

Ok ... on to this kit... it should not really be called a kit... that thing sticks out so far that short folks will find the screen behind their eyes... ok maybe not completely but you get the idea... not to mention... I like getting AC out of my vents and that giant screen would completely block it... next - you are sending a ******* 1/8 inch jack full of audio with the iPad driving it ... uhh... talk about amazing sound quality... Jeez... Seriously - my iTouch from 3 years ago which still works is 100x better than this for an in-car solution... Do people really need a giant *** screen in there? it would be amazingly distracting... modern day phones are more than satisfactory for in car situations... GPS / Traffic / Music - you name it ... Its amazing that if someone re-invented the wheel and called it something else - how many people would blindly jump on that bandwagon - quite sad really. |
I understand that people may not like products. It is amusing, however, how emotional people get sometimes. The only real "vote" we have anymore is how we choose to spend our money. If you don't like it don't buy it. Is there a need to go on a huge diatribe?
I agree the mounts in these videos are not ideal. Personally, I would not install one of them into my vehicle. Obviously, a flush mount custom install would be the way to go. Someone may find this information useful, though. As far as digital audio out is concerned, there is a way to do that also via the camera USB dongle. |
