Default Escort radar detector hardwire

I'm in the process of hardwiring my detector into my car and I had a question.

Is the hardwire cord length from escort sufficent enough to reach the center buttons on the center console without needing some sort of extension?

Iv read up on the do it your self post and no one mentioned needing too but the cord is only 8ft long and I don't know if it will reach from underneath the rear view mirror and all the way though the headliner. And down the a pillar and into the center with just 8 feet. If anyone can shed some light please do

8 feet sounds like enough. However, if it's not, just take some other wire to finish it off; or even telephone wire...which is what the Escort cord basically is. No need to spend the money on another Escort cable.

Please post pics when you're done. I'm having all my stuff installed next week and was thinking about putting the remote mute in place of the middle rocker switch between the heated seat controls.

Isn't there a DIY or two about this on the forum?

if you're going to hard wire you can use a regular 2 conductor phone cord. just cut one end into your switched fuse and other end to your detector.
