Axxess ASWC wiring.
Anybody have the functional wiring instructions for this system? The ones that come with the unit are wrong for the Touring Sport with the Bose system.
Anybody got this to work yet and remember where they wired it up to? Would save me some cash from having to let my local guys do it for me. Thanks. |

Hey Z33knight
I looked through the wiring diagrams in the 2010 Nissan Service manual and can't find any mention of a difference for the touring/sport models. They talk about: Base model Bose without nav Bose with nav Mexican models non-Mexican models Coupe Roadster Every single one uses the same pins for the Steering wheel A and B and ground.....pins 6, 16, and 15 respectively. The only differences are the colors of the wires in the different models. I have a touring/sport Roadster and haven't installed the HU and Axxess ASWC yet. I'll let you know how it goes, but I've read a couple of other posts that mentioned they couldn't get any functions to work other than volume in the touring models...... |

Even I with doing 3 bose systems have not been able to get the pac nor the axxess to work in the bose model. However I think some people have figured it out with different color wires. I however have not.

I have a 2010 touring/sport Roadster. It has Bose without Navigation.
What I intend to do when I hook it up is the following: Grey/Red wire of the ASWC to pin 6 of the vehicle which according to the Service Manual is W (White). Grey/Blue wire of the ASWC to pin 16 of the vehicle which according to the SM is GR (Gray) This is for the non-Mexican car. The Mexican vehicle has different colors. I'll have to verify that in fact these colors coincide with the pins of course. Ground pin 15 of the vehicle's harness which is B (Black). There seems to be a lot of variation on the actual wire colors, depending on the vehicle. For instance, on the base unit AND the Bose with NAV, Pin 6 is P (Pink) Pin 15 is B (Black) and pin 16 is L (Blue). There doesn't appear to be any Mexican/non-Mexican vehicle differences for the base and Bose/Nav cars. They are both the same. I'm just wondering if those that can't get it to work on the touring vehicles are perhaps not verifying the correct pin and are relying on the color instead. Just a thought..... I'll know soon enough when I get around to installing the 9960. I really won't know for sure until I actually pull the old radio and examine what I've got. Here's the Legend for figuring out the colours on the Nissan wiring diagrams: B = Black W = White R = Red G = Green L = Blue Y = Yellow LG = Light Green BG = Beige BR = Brown OR or O = Orange P = Pink PU or V (Violet) = Purple GY or GR = Gray SB = Sky Blue CH = Dark Brown DG = Dark Green Last edited by khameleon; 04-18-2011 at 04:25 PM. |

I got the Axxess ASWC working on my 2010 Touring/Sport (with Bose/No NAV) Roadster.
I hooked it up as per the previous post, and it didn't work. The first set of flashes indicated that Grey/Blue was detected (6th flash). The second set of flashes indicated that I had a JVC radio, but I have the Kenwood 9960. A call to Axxess had me speaking to the rudest tech support rep I have ever met. But that's another story.......the long of the short is that the online instructions had me hooking up the two wires of the ASWC to the opposite pins on the vehicle wiring harness. The correct wiring is Gray/Blue to pin 6 (White) and Gray/Red to pin 16 (Gray), and the ground to pin 15 (Black) was OK. The instructions were backwards. Also, for the ASWC to recogonize the Kenwood, you have to put a 12000 (12K) ohm resistor in line with the blue/yellow wire of the Kenwood HU (Remote Cont) and the brown wire of the 3.5mm jack of the ASWC. http://www.avrdistributing.com/tech_...s_auto-pgm.pdf The above document states 10K Ohms, but Axxess said 12K. Most likely they will both work. I used 12K. I rebooted the ASWC, and this time it identified the Gray/Red wire (4th flash), and also it saw the radio as Kenwood. I then manually programmed the unit. You then have to remove the 12K resistor and reboot. It will not work with the resistor left in place. I now have all 3 buttons working, although the phone buttons don't seem to work..... I had seen that post before. In my case, there was no pink wire. I had a blue, but it was hooked to my LH front speaker (-). On top of that, the fact that terminals were crossed out and re-numbered confused the issue, and I just couldn't figure out what the diagram was saying. My car is Canadian, so it should be configured as the North American model...download the Sevice manual section AV page 105. That's what I have, and that's what worked for me. There must be more than one way to make the ASWC work, and there must be some variations of the wiring harness as well.
Good Luck |

FYI: Like I mentioned previously, this configuration worked for my car no problem, however I just finished an install for a buddy that has a base model and it was tough. I installed a JVC KD-HDR70 and the manual programming was funky. First the wire colors were pink and blue but the pin position was off. Pin 6 was pink but pin 17 (I believe) was the blue one and the black pin was next to it (16 I think). Anyways, that all worked out but when programming I had to program Preset Up option 7 with the button downwards and Band option 10 with the button upwards so that he could scroll thru his presets correctly... Programming Seek worked per the instructions but he didn't want it that way. Source and volume controls were fine also. If I programmed Scroll Up/Down per the manual scroll up didnt work and scroll down actually scrolled up... Weird. Works now though... I did ensure the ASWC was programmed correctly for JVC (5) led flashes.

First of all, many thanks to everybody who posted here, as confusing as it is.
I have a 2010 370z Tour/Sport with the Bose, w/o Nav. I FINALLY got it all together and working. I bought a new Pioneer HU from Crutchfield, including the Wiring Harness and the steering wheel controls (i.e. the ASWC-1). Regarding Pins 6 and 16; all I had to hook up was the Gray/Blue wire to pin 6 (which was White on my harness), and the Gray/Red wire to pin 16 (which was Gray on my harness). With that; I have volume up/down, prev/next, and (change) source. We won't talk about how many times I had to try it before it worked, or how long it took to get it installed, but it's working now. Now I have to see about getting the phone to work....

Sorry to dredge up such an old post, but I'm looking for some help with this. I have the ASWC working...sort of.
I have red/gray to pink (pin 6) and blue/gray to blue (pin 16) per Matt's video. This is opposite of Metra's instructions, but seems to be working as I am able to manually program and get all of the buttons working. Would it not work at all if I switched these around? My issue is that not all of the buttons seem to work reliably. The SOURCE button is perfect, VOL+ is decent, but VOL- rarely works. Is this a sign of a resistance issue in the circuit? I have all of the wires soldered, but I am using the AHH-70-7552 harness and the ASWC 3.5mm connector since my radio is a 2-wire. Could these be adding resistance into the circuit? I'm wondering if I should bypass these and solder directly into the factory wiring. |

Its actually not working..or it would work because the instructions are indicating to do that. I wired it like the instructions blue/grey to pin 6 pink and red/grey to pin 16 blue. Make sure u also have a good ground.
