Playing iPhone through Bluetooth without cables?
Sorry guys, this probebly has been brought heaps of time, but I would Like to know if you can hook up your iPhone to play music through the Bluetooth without using the AV inputs. My friend just purchased a Mazda cx9 and his iPhone hooks up and plays audio without plugging it in. I have checked the search engine and tried everything but Im sure you guys can give me a straight up yes or no.
Thanks Ryan |
Don't think this is possible.
I really hate how only the 10 model has the iphone selection on the NAV. I cant use my iphone since I cant operate it while driving |
It sucks that Nissan can't offer an upgrade...
Or somthing to run it through the system like the 2010 model.
|
That's kinda funny cuz the iPhone doesn't support music over Bluetooth.
|
2010 model you will be able too
|
Or buy an aftermarket system (if you don't have factory Nav)

That's weird cuz mine doesn't do it... Are your guys phones jailbroken by any chance?
|
maybe something like this?
DealExtreme: $12.99 Bluetooth 2.0 A2DP AVRCP Stereo Music Receiver and Handsfree (Black) You'll still have a short cord going into the aux port on the radio, but you could always mount this thing somewhere and leave it plugged in. |
iphone software update 3.0 added A2DP (stereo over bluetooth). So as long as your system can take in A2DP then you should be able to enable your iphone to do this. On the 2010 Nav, it supports it but I haven't tried it yet.

My iPhone works with Bluetooth audio just fine...not jailbroken. Sometimes, it's a bit choppy, but cool nonetheless. I'm surprised you don't have that functionality in the 09s.

You can play iphone over bluetooth on the 2010 navi?
|
ive actually never tried this, i always just plug it in because i like to keep it charging
so how do you access the iPhone while connected via BT? |
Thanks guys, the iphone still works when ringing or calling via bluetooth, you dont need to plug it in, you only need to plug it in to the AV inputs if you want to use your ipod function on the phone, yea it is the 09, you would think Nissan would just need to do a firmware upgrade or flash the board to get the new function onto the 09 model.
Do we have any guru's that worked at Nissan that would know? Is there a seperate button on the audio area for the iphone or does a button on the Nav monitor come up in the 2010 model? Does anyone have a photo? Thanks Ryan |
The 2010 has a Bluetooth audio setting.
|
I have iphone 3.0 (or higher) and jail-broken, 40th ani Z, but I can't make my iphone play audio through BT? Anyone can show me how/or is it even possible??? Thanks

Certain iPhone models support a Bluetooth profile called A2DP. Bluetooth is the general group of services and within that there are supported profiles. Most phones support headset profiles, while only some support file transfer profiles. This is why Bluetooth overall is a mixed bag because the same level of services is not available across all devices.
With the advent of iPhone OS 3.0 the devices supported A2DP where possible. I don't think the original 2G iPhone supports it, but I believe the iPhone 3G and 3GS do. I've read some articles stating support on the iPhone 3G is sub-par. If your phone supports Bluetooth/A2DP, then you also need a head unit that supports it as well. You'd have to check your owner's manual for specifics. |
Ahh, I stand corrected :) I didn't know that os 3.0 added the support for A2DP.

Iphone will play music via bluetooth on the 2010 navi, not worth it in my opinion since you have to manually change the music on the iphone, better to plug it in and use the navi menu's.
|
Can you tell it to play an artist via bluetooth? You could do this on the new mustang. Hit the button, say "Play sublime" and it does..Thats awesome

I assumed this on my pionner HU , and to my suprise I can still change tracks on my deck and it will go to the next song while playing through blue tooth. I use this a lot now since I changed my case and it is a pita to get the cable in. Neat little function, the quality is about 90 % of the audio if connected though. |
This is for the Navi... I have a 40 yr anniversary W/O nav and I cannot play my music through the headunit wirelessly.
BUT - the BT phone function will work with the phone w/o it plugged in. I also don't have an i-phoney. I have a Crackberry. |
Actually there are several products that let you BT music through any headunit that has an AUX input.
Examples: Griffin BlueTrip Aux Scosche motorMOUTH I'm thinking any iPhone running iOS 3 or above should work. |
