I think I'm going to need a DIY for this one - had a tough time following that thread. Is the hack implementing a switch that allows me to disable the sensor temporarily while I operate the nav screen then switch it back on so the GPS will actually work? I don't want to have a jerky GPS or a non-functioning GPS as a result of this hack.

I don't care for watching video while driving, I just want to be able to type an address onscreen or browse the menus to find a caller.
