I rather have the HP slate because its actually a 16:9 screen so it actually is more aesthetically pleasing and it would be easier to fit in the dash. For CDs you could always put a cheap receiver on the bottom considering there is so much room in the 370z
I do not think you could mount the ipad nor the slate landscape in a z, not enough room but vertical you probably could.
I like the Idea, if you're gonna make a custom dash Id keep a single din cd player as well as the ipad. I just like the Idea of creating a mobile office using one and not needing other components like if you were to use a carputer.
if you want to make a carputer you could always go to MP3Car.com and they can lead you in the right direction.

It should be out soon (I'm waiting impatiently too), but I read somewhere that HP had a prototype slate back in 2007, but it would have cost over $2500 to produce. |
If its only going to cost about $500, than i would rather buy it because it already looks better, and it might be easier to fit in the dash since it is a bit smaller, plus it has widescreen

Pretty Cool idea.
I would rather do a 4G mifi ,the a 3G shitty At&T connection. |
Yeah you just save some money and say screw the 3G iPad and get the Mifi or equivalent. Mobile hotspot win!
Idk which network the slate can use with it's SIM slot, but it may only support AT&T like the ipad.
No info yet, but SIM slot is basically any GSM network in the world currently, but until we learn what frequencies it will support we can just assume (in the US) AT&T & T-mobile.
