Sat Radio Receiver: Where is it located?

I want to swap out my XM receiver for a Sirius one and before removing panels that might not be necessary, I figured I'd ask: Where is the Sat receiver

Default Sat Radio Receiver: Where is it located?

I want to swap out my XM receiver for a Sirius one and before removing panels that might not be necessary, I figured I'd ask:

Where is the Sat receiver mounted?

Anyone have a link to the section of Nissan manual that shows the installation of one?

You can locate it in the service manual. However, you'll have to pull out a lot of panels to get to it. It's under the rear deck behind the seats, which requires all deck pieces, the side panels behind the door, the door skirt panels, and all the rear paneling to come out. I know, did it in January.

I don't listen to XM, so maybe you guys can educate me. With them being the same company now, why would you switch the receivers? Can't you get all the channels?

For me, I have a lifetime subscription to Sirius that I don't have to pay for. But to use it in the new car, I have to switch out the boxes. It would be nice if they were compatible between the two services, but they're not.

Cool, thanks. Obviously they are not simply one company now if services are not interchangeable.

Nope. The Sirius guy I talked to said that Nissan has a contract with XM but not Sirius.

I believe SIRIUS bought XM and technically they are the same company but their service is still different. The technology is different and you still need separate receiver for XM and SIRIUS.

I had XM before and SIRIUS now. I like SIRIUS.

Frost, do you like Howard Stern? With your sense of humor, you'll probably get a kick out of his show

I listened to his show before he made the move, and I had sirius for a bit after he made the move. But here are my two problems:
The DJs. "interrupted" radio is just as bad as radio with commercials. It's not like I want to turn it on at a party and have the DJ come on with "that was Boston, with blahblahblah." I know who the fuckin band is honey, it says it right on the receiver.
I also turn on classical music when I read, and between every song I have to listen to von charles winchester tell me the history of the fuckin song. Mofugger, if I want to know history, I'll wikipedia that sh-t.

My 2nd problem is one of the stations I liked (I believe a classic rock station) even started playing commercials. Of course it was much less than standard radio, but again, not what I pay for. So I ditched the service and never looked back.

XM has commercials. Sirius does not have any on their music channels... just their comedy and talk-only channels (as far as I know).

I just cancelled my XM after 9 years of service because they never turned off my radio in my WRX back in July 09', and they wouldn't give a full credit. I'm hoping to resolve the matter with an email I sent, because I do miss it but I'll be damned if they aren't going to credit me back what I'm due.

Then it's junk, pure and simple. I like a wide enough variety of music where I can generally find music on the regular radio.
