portable mp3 players/aux
is the ipod the only mp3 player that works directly with the aux input on the front of the receiver? or are there some other lesser mp3 players i can use that have the ability to connect into that aux port.
|
other mp3 players can work i use my Motorola droid.

well i know like i had a old crappy mp3 player but its connector was a usb on the other end. and i notice the aux on this is a round connector. what type of wire connection would i need to go from the mp3 player to the reciever?
|
That's just a standard 1/8th audio connector , its like the end of your headphones. You buy a 1/8th male to male cable and plug one end into the stereo aux and the other end into your mp3 player headphone jack. All it does is send the audio from the mp3 player to your receiver, no controls etc.

ah ok. gotcha. that makes things easier. means i can go with any mp3 player i want. thanks.

yah, make sure you get a 'stereo' 1/8" male to male (or 3.5mm).
in the music world we call it a male to male 1/8" TRS connector. |
