Audiophile system

2 Attachment(s)
Hy guys, i have few questions about the disposition of speakers in a Z. What's the best configuration for the best sound ? I need a central front speaker (3) ? And what about 2 middles in back (2) ? I'm not sure how it will sound and 4 this am asking, u have already your lovers :yum:

Next u have the system what i'm thinking to install; any suggestion is welcome. Is the JL AUDIO HD amp the best ? I'm looking for high end but the dimensions also.

PS. I know, i don't have the Z (not yet) but soon i'll be in love :worship:

PS 2 : by "lovers" i mean Z :p

Can we have that in english please? If you search around there are plenty of threads about audio setups. If you still would like soem help:

What is your budget?
What do you want to achieve from your system?
What kind of music do you listen too?
Do you mind losing trunk space?

Audiophile plus a car do not really go together, also the Z is not the best with its smaller space and limited room for a true sound stage. While I like some of the setups people are putting into the 370z, I would lower the budget a good bit since after a couple grand you will not notice the difference enough, in my personal opinion.

:iagree:
Also unless you are watching tons of movies in the car I would not get rear speakers. Echo town usa. And the cap? Do you really think you need it? I do agree with the front 3-way system though.

bigaudiofanat 03-17-2010 08:05 PM

3 ways yes if you can fit them and set them up properly. Cap no need for one. That picture of the setup you are looking at, Not enough room for something like that in a z. No need for rear speakers I agree with that. Subs a single 12 would be plenty, or you can go with two if you want a lot of bass but in a car the size of the z no need for it. Amps the sky is the limit so it the limit for speakers. Some brands that come to mind are Focal, Audison "only local dealers sell them unless you want the older models than you can buy them off woofersetc.com" A friend of mine has heard good things about memphis amps, image dyanmics, for sepakers focal, image dyanmics, and polk sr series but they are only 2 ways. Plenty of options in your price range.

So, a new problem now... another subwoofer or what's else in 3ohm mono amp ?

Thanks BIG, ill be in one amp in 2 channels and 1 mono for sub. Let me know if you know something really good. In your opinion which is the best mono amps & 12'' sub ? Apparently the JL 12W7 and ROKFORD FORSGATE T212 D4 are one of the best..but it only what i find in some forums and reviews...

florin_78fr 03-19-2010 02:25 PM

really hard

:nutswinger: i get a headache...so many opinions...now i'm thinking about JL 12W6V2 JL Audio 12W6v2 Subwoofers - Car Audio Subwoofers or IDQ 12 D4 IDQ12V2.D4 - Image Dynamics 12" IDQ Dual 4 Ohm Subwoofer

Opinions ?

bigaudiofanat 03-19-2010 04:34 PM

Me personally like ID more than JL also cheaper. So my opinion go with ID.

florin_78fr 03-21-2010 04:55 AM

Helix Power Station XXL Competition

is this worth ? http://www.car-news.info/press/audio...her/index.html
Or is only a bigger capacitor ?

sig11 03-22-2010 08:13 AM

That reeks of magic rocks to me.

2fast4thelaw 03-22-2010 05:21 PM

Helix/Brax stuff is really nice! It is some of the best made stuff I have ever seen for car audio. Thier amps are like a work of art!

yes, i saw also the HELIX COMPETITION SPXL12 :yum: but i think i'll go with JL 12w6v2 ( smaller capacity of enclosure ).

florin_78fr 03-23-2010 01:14 PM

Price for custom install ?

4 Attachment(s)
How much it will be (time & money) an custom install for 2Din, sound processor, 2 x 3 way speakers in front, 1 sub and 2 amp in a custom enclosure in wood then recovered in leather or CF ( in the space used by zenclosure's enclosure ) + dynamat in all interior ?
about speaker's install, something like these images.

bigaudiofanat 03-23-2010 06:03 PM

Probably a full week of work maybe a bit less or more.

Well thats a broad statement:icon18:
If you had all the parts I could probably do all that over 2-3 weeks. definately alot more than a week to properly fabricate doors, a new dash and the entire hatch area. Add a couple days of proper tuning on top of fab work and thats close to a 10k dollar install

about speaker's install, something like these images.

At least 1 week and about 5 grand if you have all or most of the equipment. Otherwise you are looking at 8 grand if they provide the equipment.

Thats pretty much what it cost me. (3-way speakers will cost an extra grand for install)

Building a mega-buck, audiophile system to listen to techno and hip-hop? :wtf2:
