My thoughts

Speakers... JL or Polk
Amp... JL, or Polk, or Kenwood
Deck...Kenwood all the way

Thing about Kenwood. I've never had one fail me. Always lasted longer than me love relationship with the car.

I hate to be the “Bearer of Bad News”, but….Alpine was not a winner of CES 2010.....

^^ FYI……Alpine was mentioned in the “People’s Voice nominees”…..the single din iDA-X305S. The double din winner was the Pioneer AVIC-X920BT multimedia and navigation receiver.

^^ as for the DLS Ultimate Nobelium 6.2 Component System…….must be the winner of “themselves awards”! Not CES 2010….

Yes JL is very expensive for something you can get cheaper form another company. Look at alpines pdx line of amps they to have a 1000 watt amp. I would alos recommend that you get a 2 channel amp as well for your front speakers to allow them to keep up with your new sub. Polk makes well built speakers like the mm series for a good price. For subs look at the alpine type r's.

I was responding to Florin_78fr…..mentioning CES 2010 winners and Alpine in the same post!! Alpine has a great single din stereo if you want a single din stereo! This is 2010, I honestly can’t remember the last time I bought a single din stereo!! Is that what you have in your Honda Civic? I’m sure it sounds ok!!
