Yes JL is very expensive for something you can get cheaper form another company. Look at alpines pdx line of amps they to have a 1000 watt amp. I would alos recommend that you get a 2 channel amp as well for your front speakers to allow them to keep up with your new sub. Polk makes well built speakers like the mm series for a good price. For subs look at the alpine type r's.
