do you notice the nav scrolling more choppy than before or any other difference? i did this same mod to my Lexus and the nav got choppy because it could no longer compensate speed from the wheels
also, i'm assuming this mod will allow us to watch videos while on the move (not that i'd ever really want this feature but i'm sure my passenger might) otherwise, thanks so much for doing the legwork...i've been waiting for someone brave enough to do this and report so the rest of us can enjoy driving without having to stop to change settings |

Yeah i put in a switch on the VSS wire so that i can reenable it when im using the nav. Only other note is take the positive terminal off the battery before doing this hack to avoid the AIRBAG light coming on.

The best thing to do is COUNT the number of connectors you pulled and be sure the count matches when you are done. If not, go back and find the missing connector BEFORE powering up the car. |

got another question for you guys - to get the menus to not gray out when driving over 5 miles per hour, all you would need to do is put a switch on the VSS wire and the purpose of grounding the brake wire is to get videos to play while moving? am i understanding this correctly?

if i dont mind the av system graying out things on the navi and all i want is to watch video from ipod for passenger then can i just ground ebrake wire and leave vss alone with no switches? thanks guys

correct me if i'm wrong but i am pretty sure it still won't work unless you cut the vss signal....it was that way with my Lexus IS; the ebrake was only part of the procedure. I had to put a switch between the VSS in order for the video to work (iPod/DVD).
