Default Audio and electrical issues at only 225 miles

So I get into my new pride and joy yesterday and fire her up and notice that the radio console display (NO nav) will not power on nor will the display show anything.

Additionally, the small "unlocked" light doesn't work either (door rocker switch).

The car drives fine and all other electrical appears to function properly.

I am pretty pissed that this is happening, let along with only 225 miles on the car.

I did not have a chance to check the fuses yet but does anyone have any ideas regarding what gremlin might have caused this to occur?

There is no CEL. The Bluetooth did work because the calls went to the phone, but because the radio didn't work, I was unaware of the incoming calls. Additionally, with locks work fine as well.

Any help would be great. I did post this same message in the Mid-Atlantic forum.

I just got mine back from similar electrical problems that I (apparently) caused... Never the less, it was a short in the main switch (the switch in the drivers door for unlocking doors and windows), which led to a short in the ECM. In my case, nothing electrical worked.

Yeh, I don't see how I could have caused anything. Did you do any aftermarket audio stuff?

Mine is completely stock so the only thing I can pin it on is a short or a bad fuse. Either way, for a car this new, this falls into the BS column.

I just got off the telephone with the dealership and they said that it was most likely a bad radio unit (or at least the problem was isolated to the radio unit).

Additionally, they said that the "unlock" logo does not light up on any Nissan vehicle. Is that indeed true?

Kind of weird.

As to answer this, yes I put in aftermarket audio equipment.

Cool. Thanks for the info.

Taking in today. The VQ sounds great so it's not bad to be out a radio for a little.

That's true. Unlock logo doesn't lit up on ALL 370zs

Ya they seem to have a lot of problems no matter what car they are in. Do not get to worked up over it. I have heard the cd changer fail, external amps fail, subs fail and so on.

Cool. I just want to make sure it's not an overarching problem with the Z car's electrical system.

Sounds good. Sucks, but as long as it isn't along the lines of an Audi electrical problem, we are rock steady.

Problem resolved! Two fuses were not installed in their proper outlets. Oddly, the fuses did not break. Switched them around and we are now good to go.
