Amp under seats? Enough room?
I bought a JL Slash 2 250/1V2 amp. Will it fit under the passenger seat? Anyone done similar? Mucho thanks!
|
I wouldn't mount it there and not to mention it would be nearly impossible to adjust it. I think the best place to mount an amp is the area between the crossbar and the spare tire area. There is a lot of room to hide your cables and its easy to get to for making adjustments. I like all of my components completely hidden but easy to access.

Or on the rear deck behind the seats you could mount it there as well. |
:iagree: thats where i'm mounting mine. I got the Zenclosures box so i don't want to put it under the box:p

Sounds good. I will mount it in the rear between the crossmember and the spare tire. How does this sound? Epoxy a piece of wood to the metal floor the, screw the amp to the wood.

Last night I removed the large foam piece (and broke it) behind/below the silver cross member. No room for the amp unless it rests on-top of the side airbag sensor (I'd rather not). I guess I will have to mount behind the driver’s seat in the shelf area. Should the amp be mounted vertically? And will the plastic hold the amps weight?
(JL Audio Slash 2501v2). Any suggestions welcome!!!! |
Amp should be fine there if you want to remove the panels and use small bolts to mount it there that will work I used taping screws and worked fine. Also for that foam piece you should of removes your side panels of the trunk before taking the foam out.
