XM or SIRIUS Radio???

Probably a really dumb questions...

Right now I have my sat radio setup with XM. Personally, I like the channels better on SIRIUS. Can the sat be tuned over to SIRIUS from XM?

Thanks in advance

I thought so as well, but according to XM, the still operate as different businesses. You can get the XM Everything/Best of SIRIUS or SIRIUS Everything/Best of XM packages. It appears that the XM basic package does not contain the "Liquid Metal" channel but the SIRIUS one does.

Yea... I am an old metal head, so I would rather have the SIRIUS service than the XM. :tiphat:

I don't know if they still offer it, but I paid $500 and now have SIRIUS for life. Can't do that with XM.

Yes you can, I just got XM for life (or whatever they call it) for about $400. I told them I wanted to cancell and got the offer.

Yes it can with the right satellite radio receiver and maybe a minor wire modification ... or two

Going to be attempting this in March ....... I'll let you know how it turns out

I would go with sirius IMO better music stations and if you want xm stations just add the best of xm to your subscription. But for me I just have sirius.

Is that an offer the OP can get or is that just because you were an existing customer and threatened to cancel?

I have XM + Best of Sirius

My car came with a 3 months XM subscription for "free". When I received the invoice for the next 3 months (after the first 3 free were over), I called and said I was thinking about not extending my subscription. That's when they made me the offer for the lifetime subscription. Assuming the OP got the same "3 months for free' with the car, he can do the same as I did.

However, I daon't know if it is possible to switch to Sirius. I just checked the XM website and it looks like I can only add "the best of Sirius" to my XM package. Hope this info helps.

No if you have xm the only thing you can get is the best of sirius package.

Ive always liked sirius better anyway, xm has stern but I never cared for his lame repetative jokes

bigaudiofanat 02-10-2010 08:03 PM

Speed, Sirius had stern first if I remember correctly.

speedfreak28 02-10-2010 08:12 PM
