Default DVD playback?

I got my Eclipse AVN726E installed today and my intitial impression of it is quite good. My only complaint is the fact that dvd playback can only be viewed while the parking brake is engaged. I know that you can ground the wire to trick it into playing but the installer said he couldn't do that for me. If you you engage the parking brake at one click it does work but then you have the alert beeping not stop. I guess I have 2 questions. 1. Is it detrimental in any way to drive with the e brake engaged to only one click and 2. is there a way to get the alert to quit beeping?

Just take the head unit out and ground the lime green wire. The reason your installer did not do the bypass is because if you crash you could sue him for doing the bypass. Also a lot of states by law prohibit installers from doing the bypass. Just a heads up.

I have the same receiver, the wiring harness adapter has 2 black wires. Connect one of them to the parking brake wire from your Eclipse headunit and you are done.
