iPhone 3G problems?
Just got a new 2010 370Z this past Saturday. Whenever I use my iPhone 3G in the USB port...I get a message saying it's not compatible and asks if I want to use airplane mode. Whether I push yes or no, the music seems to play for awhile and then just plays some loud static. Sometimes I can go whole trips without it, but sometimes it comes halfway through the first song. Anyone else have this problem?

Assuming you have the Nav package that includes USB? Find someone with an iphone and test it. That should narrow it down to either your phone or the stereo system.

I seem to have problems using my iPod Touch. Sometimes, while playing, it just decides the iPod isn't connected any longer and the only way to get it to recognize it again is to stop the damn car, turn off the engine, and turn it back on again.
I realize it's not the same as your iPhone problem but may be related in that the OEM navi doesn't work as well with the iPhone / iPod Touch as they lead you to believe. |
I have the same problem sometimes Slynky, it will act like it's reading the USB memory forever basically until I turn off the car and restart it. It must be the phone/player as well because it's not the USB cable (I've tried three different ones). At least I am not alone...

I have had some issues with the Iphone and the NAV head unit.
1. When connected to the USB port, it says it is not compatible with the device. 2. If connected to bluetooth, viewing my phone contact list in the HU shows GUID's instead of names. I have no problem with this feature with my Windows Mobile phone. If you want to listen to music off the Iphone, you might be able to use the bluetooth stereo audio streaming support; I haven't tried this yet though. |
Technically, the iPhone isn't listed as a supported device for music. In my case, however, the iPod Touch (version 1.2.3 or later) IS supposed to be supported.
So, I guess with the iPhone, which is supposed to be a glorified iPod Touch, might not be compatible. Certainly, there's no legitimate complaint to be made that the navi doesn't do what it's supposed to do (as in my case). |
Is this an iPhone 3G or 3GS?

The iPhone uses Apples proprietary bluetooth, not the standar formats on most phones. It shouldn't work, and if it does, will probably have some issues.

However, I'm apparently obtuse. How does any of this apply to the iPhone asking to swicth to airplane mode or my ipod Touch "losing" its connection? |
