Music On The HDD (OEM Navi)
So, I've checked the book/manual and it appears the ONLY way to get music on the HDD is when it's (basically) off an audio CD. Can't copy from a flash drive (that I can see) or copy MP3s from a CD.
Have I missed something or is that about it? |
Nope that is correct. Have fun doing that slow process. What kind of flash drives do you have? If you have drives other than the compact flash, just buy an adapter. That's what I was going to do with all my memory stick duo's when I was looking at the G37.

I had a thread about this a few weeks ago. It is sad you can't copy to the HD from a USB drive. I've just been ripping a new CD to the HD every time I get in the car. I've probably got a couple of dozen albums in there now.
Memory is so cheap now the 9 GB HD is really a joke -- 16 GB USB flash drive $32 Amazon.com: SanDisk Cruzer Micro 16 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive SDCZ6-016G-A11: Computer & Accessories Just buy one of those and use the USB port |
Thanks for the replies...
I guess my disappointment is based on the fact I pretty much quit buying CDs. I buy MP3s from Amazon now. No DRM. Just seems a pain that I can't put them on the HD. Yeah, I can put them on a USB drive but that makes a kind of a waste out of the car's HD. And, the HD should be faster. Again, thanks for the replies. |
