Kenwood DNX8120 Demo Video
For those looking to go aftermarket! WARNING:The guy giving the presentation is a lil RainMain-ish. But its informative looks like a good HU |
Doh, I can't view it. Kenwood is releasing new models this Spring, and the DNX9140 is the latest flagship. I was currently looking into getting the DDX812 since I don't need navigation, but it appears I'll be waiting for the DDX814 (Mar/April release) instead.

That guy is REALLY nerdy.
The system seems slow. I'm not sure if it's just that I'm just impatient, but it takes it a while for that think to switch modes... I'd be happy if it didn't do all that animation crap. Skipping that stuff would likely speed things up a bit. I want to hear my radio, not watch it. |

Voice command in any head-unit will NEVER beat the stock voice command in the Nissan.
I say "Temperature 72" and it sets the temp to 72F. I say "1059" and it sets my radio to 105.9FM I say "Directions to home" and it sets the GPS destination to my house. I say "Dial <name>" or "Dial <number>" and it does it! How can you beat that!? I never trained it! It just understands me. |

I use the one in my M35 and it's freaking great! But I have to admit, it doesn't like accents very much! I actually speak very clearly no matter what and I have no hint of an accent.
But either way, I NEVER have issues telling it what to do, even with the windows down. |
I'll take some video of me using it and post it up here. It's really simple.

I forgot to do the navigation voice command, but here ye:
