Another Brainiac Install
1 Attachment(s)
I didn't take too many pics of the install but wanted to show how the finished product came out. Still working on rooting the tablet so it can power on when it senses a charge from starting the Z. I have a wireless OBDII scanner on the way that I will couple with the Torque Pro app. Next step will be subwoofers, maybe. PS-Don't make too much fun of my taste in music lol.

Congrats, it's a nice setup. It will take some getting used to but overall I like mine. I wish the steering wheel controls were easier to get working, gave up on mine.

I like that. I need something new in my Z. I wonder though, with that size screen, does sunlight coming in from above wash it out? I know I even have trouble with my smaller screen. I've considered putting a sunshade or something if I go the tablet route.
What screen/tablet is that, and did you custom-make the trim ring, or what? |
Ok, I searched Braniac - I didn't know that was a brand name or something? I found this YouTube video which gives me some ideas.
I like this, I'm gonna have to look into it. Give us an idea on the cost? Like I said, I've got a lot of research to do. <edit> Braniac tablet install kit is $299. Now I got more to look into. Haven't done anything new to the install in my Z in a coupla years, my older Pioneer touchscreen is getting tempermental, so this sounds like the perfect upgrade. Maybe for Christmas? I had planned on trying to get an 85" TV, but I dunno... we shall see... |

It does look very sleek though. |
What will using the Torque Pro app show you?

I run the brainiac kit along with Radens micro controller to handle all the garbage navigation junk when I removed the touchscreen oem setup. The kit has its quirks, but it far more robust than running base or touring junk. The $12 app brainiac sells is hot garbage. I csn provide a list of apps I run thst take care of a majority of the things you'll want to easy access to. Like split screen apps, volume controls, and brightness adjustments based off of time and weather conditions. |
Here is my current setup. It'll give you a rough idea on what torque pro looks like.
