If the board hasn't been loaded it will give you the green light but none of the climate controls will respond.
I'm fairly positive I loaded the software onto it correctly. Every screnshot was identical to what I had loaded within the program.

Is the firmware required? I don't have the Bluetooth module on the board. Nor did I see any switch.

Ok, I just wanted to be sure it wasn't the software- When I did my install I forgot to load the board and had the non-responsive issue you had. At least with the green light you know you're getting correct power to the board.

Yup. Got the green light. Even validated that the main harness works because the light doesn't come on without it.

I reran the code and everything looks just like the documentation. Still no AC controls at all. I have the car in the ON position currently.

Does the board connect to something else I am missing? I have the big OEM connector hooked up to the custom harness that was made which is then hooked into the big connector on the board.

I have the OEM white connector hooked directly into the white connector in the board.

And I have the AC connected via custom harness to the board.

I'd blame it on a bad harness, but I can't even get audio to work.

Like you I did the custom harness to the main connector and the harness to the base climate controls. I did not connect anything to the board's custom breakout connector or the steering wheel control connector yet, so you don't need anything there.

The audio not working at all is suspect- I'd double check fuses and make sure nothing shorted out somewhere. Did you start off with stock nav and radio?

Yea, everything was stock before I started. It's an 09 model. I'm going to toss the OEM stuff back in and see if everything works.

Tossed everything back in and everything works normally. Nav comes on, AC blows air, and audio plays.

Its probably your harness or pins. That gave me the most trouble but Ryan helped me get it all sorted out. I just have one issue and its a software bug with turning off the fan while the air handler is in any mode except auto. He documented it on his site and is working on a update.

I had my pins backwards or not pushed in far enough. The dial harness was the most difficult.

The board would power on but ac dials wouldnt work but once the pins were fixed it worked.

I didnt use the io outs either.

As far as no audio it sounds like a larger issue with your install as the board doesnt handle any of the audio signals except the mic passthrough.

Can you provide more detail on how you connected the audio componenets?

I shot a message to Ryan to see if he could help be diagnose and troubleshoot the board further. If new haranasses are needed, I'd need some help.

In regards to the audio issues. I picked up the audio kit from Brainiac as well. I apologize for not knowing the connector names. I plugged in the big OEM connector into the black Brainiac box. I connected the 2 "in" RCA cables to the black box and connected the "out" rca cables to the sleeved 3.5mm aux cable. Then i just plugged that aux into the tablet.

Volume was at full for the tablet and twisting the gold dial on the black box didn't do anything. Am I just missing something obvious? I didn't see any power switches with the brainiac audio equipment.

SO I ended up looking at my build date. October 2008. I am wondering of the AC and main power board have different wiring configurations or something since it was a first production run of the car.

I ended up getting a rear view mirror touchscreen front/rear camera setup that works well. The wiring was easy to route and it removes the need for camera real estate on the windows.

Most of the parts are available from Digikey, Mouser or Allied Electronics, with the exception of the Sumitomo connector & pins, you need to get those from Japan, it's hi-1000ec.com that has the connector & pins. Get the pin assemblies that have the wire already crimped on, it will save time. The drawback there is you don't have many color options.

Addition: radensb did a wonderful job identifying connector & terminal part numbers on his wiki. Raden, if you have time, I'd create a BOM (bill of materials) that shows total quantities for terminals & connectors. Since I work with those part numbers (or ones real similar) I was able to notice that one terminal is used on a couple of connectors and didn't order duplicates. Great job.
I have been working on v2 of the board that uses a different family of connector as I found that you can buy pigtails very cheaply. I am also working on an adapter PCB with the factory connectors and Molex connectors so that the wiring is much more straight forward. No more crimping individual pins (if you dont want to).

I replied to your PM last week. The BT is only to allow for future com options with an app on a tablet (where USB is not feasible or desired). Since you don't have the BT module, there is no BT mode switch and no need to attempt that programming section. That programming instruction is just to update the module FW (if you had it) when the MFG releases an update - if you wanted to keep it current.

As stated, if you are seeing the green light, that means the board is getting power. Good start! The green light indicates that the board is receiving 12V from the accessories power. The dial module gets its power from the ignition power, so the car does need to be in the ON position. If the dials are not working, its either a wiring issue, or the FW is not loaded. If you followed the bring up section (and video) and didn't get any errors, the board should have programmed successfully, and the wiring should be verified. I think you are save. I also have a 2009 (2008 production), which was used to develop this project. Now that others have gotten the board and installed it, I can confirm that there are no unforeseen issues in other model years.

Also as stated, the eZ Navi-Delete in completely independent from the audio system, so something else is going on of you don't have audio. I know the Brainiac electronics have an adjustment knob for the provided amp - is that set properly?

The only connection that are needed to make the dials work are the Universal harness with accessories, ignition, gnd, CAN-H, and CAN-L. Everything else is just a passthrough to the User I/O connector (which is just there for convince to access the signals on that connector).

Check your PM and we'll get this sorted out!
