2-way component system wiring with Joying Android HU

Hi Guys,

I just ordered a POLK AUDIO DB6502 component kits with the 3/4 tweeters. I also have one of these Joying Unit (similar but not the same - I bought the one with Android 6.0 2 years ago and Quad Core, 50watts RMS each x 4)

This is the back of the unit:

The cross over requires input signal and then output to 2 woofers and 2 tweeters. Which wires do I run into the input signal? (Do these need to be grounded?)

I have the base 370z 2017 btw.

Thank you.

Are you running off of the headunit or an amp?

Headunit - the input to the [Polk] crossover will be the output from the Joying unit (on your picture the "Joying port") to your front speakers. From the crossover, you will have a pair of wires to the tweeters and the other pair to the woofers.

Amp - (same as the headunit) except from the source will be the amp's wires to the front speakers

Thank you for answering. I don't have a separate amp. The headunit has the AMP option built in in the settings on the HU.

Speaker output left and right usually white is left and grey is right set. Those wires will go from the head unit directly into their crossover input. Out from there goes to the woofer and tweeter

Hello,

I just installed the POLK component 2 sets. The bass is very weak compared to factory? The tweeter however is quite clear. Is there any way I can adjust this without using an amp?

So I cut the wires from the Joying port and put into INPUT in the crossover, I kept the wires of the woofer in the door (just connect the +purple and -blue to the POLK woofer). Then wires from the crossover into the tweeter.

When I adjust the SUB setting in the HU, there is no changes. Only when I adjust the LOW.

BTW, I only changed the Driver side so far (out of time and it turned dark outside). I am testing the difference between the LEFT (POLK) driver side and RIGHT (factory) passenger side using the "DRIVER" and "FRONT" setting of the Joying HU.

Thank you.

No you will need an amp for more bass. Also being that the android head unit isn't up to RMS quality specks it's probably not even putting out what an aftermarket head unit would normally produce. You did run new wires from the woofer directly to the crossover correct?

Its likely that the factory woofers have a higher sensitivity rating than the polk woofers, which would make them play louder with less power.
The reason there is no change with the sub level control is that you did not use the subwoofer output, which would require an amplifier.
