So let me make sure I'm understanding you, you want to buy the factory OEM Bose subwoofer? Are you sure? And why? Why not do something else? I just took mine apart earlier tonight to see what's inside...pretty weak. I will say that it sounds pretty good for awhile. I've had my Z for 6-7 mos. and it is almost what I want/need. I'm looking for just a tad bit more bass that is tighter and cleaner, and a little louder.
If you're hooking up an aftermarket amp, I don't think this Bose subwoofer is going to be able to handle it; plus the speakers are 2 ohms. These things are flimpsy little 4" subs. Last edited by jikhead; 01-11-2010 at 11:49 PM. |

actually that is exactly what i wanted to do. I want something in the spare tire well, but i don't know if i want to wait for a stealthbox or spend the $$$$ one will cost. I didn't realize that there was a small amp built in.
If i were to hook one up, could i bypass the amp with my amp, or can i use the built in amp with speaker level inputs |

Might want to read a little more. Most people say you should put in a device inbetween the two to clean up the signal because the way the Bose amp processes. If you'll read some of my posts, I plan I trying to build a box for the spare tire this weekend. Once I'm done, if completed, I will tell you how to build it or I might build them for others if it's worthwhile.
