First to buy factory Nissan Remote Start for 370Z!!
Hey guys, I took the plunge and bought the answer-back model from japanparts.com. The display and all buttons are in English, but the directions are in Japanese.
There are many pictures giving the gist of the install, so I'm hoping my local professional installer can figure it out. If so, I'll ask him to give me pics to post for anyone else interested in doing this. If my installer can't figure it out, is anyone here fluent in Japanese? Thanks!

Installation PDFs
Hey guys, can't find anyone willing to do the install soon without directions in English. One shop will give it a try, but I'll have to wait until February as they are all booked up. None of the Nissan dealerships in my area will try the install without English instructions.
So, I have created PDF files of the installation, programming, and user guides for the system. From looking at the diagrams, it seems ALMOST plug and play, and similar (but not VERY similar) to installing the illuminated kick plates (which I've done myself). Anyways, I've gone to freelancing websites to get quotes on translating these PDFs, and I'll let you know how it goes. If any of you know someone who reads Japanese and can translate these into English for CHEAP, pm me your email address. I'm also willing to compensate them with free editing or copy editing services. Vendors/installers, I am located in Omaha, NE, but will drive anywhere east of my location for you to install the system for your usual remote start install price, and you will be the first in the country to have installed the system and can market yourself as the only shop installing fully compatible OEM remote start systems for Nissans with intelligent keys. PM me your info and location if you are open to this arrangement...I'm definitely up for a road trip! Thanks!

Update!
UPDATE!
I have attempted to tackle the problem of translating the guides from Japanese to English. I contacted a number of professional language translation companies, all of whom gave me estimates around $5000. Yes, you read that correctly! Luckily, I found out about freelancer.com, and have found a guy in India (anyone read the book about the 4-hour work week?) who is translating the three guides for $100!! Yes, you read that correctly too! He has already translated the user guide for the end user post-installation, and he did a great job...not perfect, but easily good enough for anyone to understand everything written. I am still waiting for him to translate the installation and programming guides, and will post another update when I get it. Random facts I've learned from the translated guide so far: 1) You can selectively activate the rear defroster upon remote start. 2) You can operate the trunk. 3) The remote has a key lock function to avoid accidentally pressing buttons on the remote. 4) The remote must be taken with all existing keys to be programmed at the dealer. What I don't yet know is whether the remote acts as the key, or whether the key must also be with me to operate the car... When looking through the contents of the system, there is one large harness, one small harness, the transmitter antenna, and a box that probably plugs into the harness plug points. The plug/harness installation locations seem to be the same as for the illuminated kickplates, so I'm considering installing the system myself after perusing the fully translated documents, if they are clear enough. The only part that may be hard for me to install is a hood sensor that detects when the hood is opened. Perhaps I can compress the sensor and leave it in the cabin...any ideas? Anyways, I'll provide more updates as I receive the translated files... g96818, I don't know how to post the files as they are too large for the site requirements...sorry. Thanks for the support, everyone!
