Best stereo out there?
Hey, looking to add a Stereo with backup camera , navigation , that is touch screen any good ones out there? I have a 370z Coupe Base so didn't come with anything :( Please link!
Also, does what size in particular should I be looking for? Thank you! |
Too many to list. You need to search and find one that does all the things you want, and satisfies you aesthetically as well. Pretty much any Double DIN on the market will fit.
Start by looking at Crutchfield.com or sonicelectronix.com to get your juices flowing. It is a long, hard Journey, my brother, but only you can make the final decision.... enjoy. |
On this you should search because this is a very subjective topic since everyone likes something different. I recommend hearing some stereo set up’s on other people’s Z’s or similar vehicles to get an idea of what brands you like. I would definitely check out eBay too. www.ebay.com

I security-locked my base radio so I don't have anything in my Z right now, but in my Expedition I'm running a Pioneer 8200NEX. It's awesome. I bought it for the Android Auto, but I love everything about it. I don't think there is any problem fitting this in the Z, but double-check of course.
I like it so much that when I get tired of not having a stereo I'm going to get the slightly upgraded 8400NEX. (Android Auto is now wireless, which is a bigger upgrade than a lot of people may think). Hopefully this doesn't go the way of the "which oil is the best..." threads |
Sorry, didn't notice at first that you asked for links...
Pioneer AVIC-8200NEX Pioneer AVIC-8400NEX They sell units both with and without a backup camera. I didn't get it for my Expedition because I tapped the video wire for the OEM camera for the Pioneer |
Like it was previously posted.... Its way too subjective to ask for opinions on Specific items. For everyone that loves model x, there is another that hates it. Its akin to asking someone should you date a blonde or a redhead.

Yeah, but if we give opinions as to why we like what we do then he can use that to guide him

I've got an 8100NEX in my Tahoe, and a.... 4800BHS? I THINK in my Z.
Always been a fan of Pioneer's headunits, I like the navigation, the menu system, etc., I'm just most comfortable and familiar with them. I've used them for... hell, I don't know 25 years or so now. Everything from the basic low-end version up to the old ODR systems and now the NEX. As noted above, tons of options out there, you really should go play with a few to get an idea. You need preouts for amps, or you looking for one that will drive your speakers without an amp? Basically, a double-DIN unit will fit in your dash, there's a million directions to go from there depending on the features you need. |
I like the Alpine ilx-107. It made my stereo sound way better. The carplay feature works really well and it has a very sensitive touch screen. If you are an iphone user I would highly recommend this unit. The only draw back is if you forget your phone you will only have am/fm radio. The stereo also does not work with an ipad or ipod.

That's like asking what's the best kind of women. Everyone has different tastes Get what you like but stay away from cheap pyle pyramid and other low end brands.

I went with a sony unit since I wanted something that looked OEM (no shiny plastic, actual volume knob). The top Alpine units are great as well, just pricey. Pioneers are nice, just not my style.
I will say that you definitely want one with Apple Carplay or Android Auto. |

I love the Alpine ‘Halo9’ with the Maestro installed but you lose the cubby

You won't go wrong with Clarion, Pioneer, Alpine, Sony. I recommend looking beyond your parameters just in case you decide to grow your system.
