I'm planning to put a VXI 1000/5i in mine Do you guys think I need an upgraded alternator? I think the whole system is probably going to be under 100

You shouldn't need to upgrade the alt with just 1k..the stock alt did well for me with 2k..I didn't have optimum voltage but I was dropping into the 11s either..I'm running like 12k watts not with a 270amp and 2 lithium batteries
