Center Console USB & Aux
I'm going to be installing an aftermarket unit soon and just want to make sure I have everything before I start pulling everything.
Does anyone know for the later model Zs, how the USB and Aux ports from the centre console are connected to the head unit? I have already soldered up my Metra harness to the provided harness. My head unit has a USB port in the back. Does the base head unit just have a USB/micro USB/mini USB port that is connected to the port? I'd really like to retain this USB as I use it for my iPod and charging things. Also is the aux port from the centre console connected to just an extension? Not a huge loss as there is also an aux port on the face of the new head unit. |

Its connected to a harness, not a USB type connector. You could get creative and cut/splice the wires into a USB plug for your new headunit. You'll need to look at the FSMs to see which wires you'll need to tap.

What does the OEM connection look like in center console?
edit: looks like this problem has been solved - http://www.the370z.com/audio-video/1...rt-2015-a.html |
Perfect! Thanks for the quick updates guys. I knew I had seen a thread before but I guess my search skills are lacking.
Anyone know how to hook up the aux port? Or is it too much of a PIA? Saw the other thread that its part of that white connector. |
