Bose system 6x9 doors speakers

Would these Memphis Audio 2 ohm 6x9's work with the stock bose system without any other modifications (amp, wiring etc.)?

No because you have the bose system the amp sends out 2 signal to the front doors a low level for the woofer in the door and a high level that goes to the tweeters. In order to replace the speakers you would need to install a new amp. You could install those speakers but they aren't going to sound good at all because you aren't sending them a full range signal. And no you can't just tie the 2 signals together into the new speakers.

Thanks Matt. You had answered this in an email I sent you a week or so ago. I appreciate the input. What size wire feeds power to the stock Bose amp?

HAHA I thought so,

the stock wire is about a 16 gauge going to the woofer and a 18 gauge going to the tweeter. But it varies on the years. Some I did had 18 gauge for all the speakers. I would recommend doing a component set and running new wire from your new amp.

I put infinity Kappa 6.5s in my doors, running off the Bose amp and it sounds a lot better than the bose speakers ever could. Also replaced the Bose sub, but used a line out converter and amp for that.

Thanks. I was wondering about what the size of the existing power wire size is that feeds the stock amp.

Oh you can do it, but you're not getting anywhere near a full range signal going to the speakers sense the bose amp splits the signal before it goes out to the speakers.

From memory it's around 12AWG.
