Default Question about Speaker Spacer Inner Diameter

I noticed when i was trying to order my subencosure, spacers, and stickers(+10 hp)there were different inner diamters for them. i'm not sure what speakers ill be going with. would it be ok to go ahead and get the biggest i/d? would it affect anything if the id of the speaker is smaller?

worst case scenario you take a jigsaw or something and make them larger. some subs have MUCH larger baskets than others and i've had to do this many times.

Typically, no. Although, I'd probably recommend the opposite. It's much easier to remove material if your speakers are too big - and rather difficult to add it back if you end up with smaller diameter speakers.

I went to the web site for the speakers I was buying and found the inner diameter of the cage. Typically manufactors have all the mounting detail about their speakers. In my case they had a pdf with a diagram of the speaker with the size in mm. I then converted that to inches and placed my order for the correct speaker spacers. That would be the best way to ensure that you are ordering the right inner diameter.

When I did the install in Cali, the sub was a tad bigger than the sub box from zenclosures so out came the dremel with a cutting bit and went to town.

Just call mike at zenclosures and tell him the type of speaker you are using. He should be able to tell you which size you need.
