Default What do I need to get and Android head unit installed?

So first off please forgive me if this has been answered but i work overtime just about everyday and can go weeks without a day off which leaves me with almost no time to spend searching through forums even though I would love to learn more about mods for my new z. I want to get a good quality android head unit preferably a new model and would like to know what else I would need to buy besides the head unit itself to make sure whoever will install it wont have any trouble getting it to work. Im looking at headinits from pumpkin, joying, and xtrons but i cant find an answer letting me know which would definitely work for our cars and what cable, wires or other things I would need to install. Any help is greatly appreicated.

Good day, you will need the fallowing to install your head unit.

Wiring harness (asuming you don't have bose)
Metra 70-7552

Antenna adapter
Metra 40-NI12

Dash kit
Metra 99-7607B

Depending on which android head unit you get, you will also need a steering wheel control module like the ASWC-1. Some have this feature built in. Their way you will need to splice wires from the factory harness to get them to work.

I've been liking this company for their head units sense they run a newer version of android and more RAM

Had Sony x100 Android auto double din installed last week at BB. No antenna adaptor needed or kit. He only needed the harness and steering wheel control cable. My 370z is a base 2010 model. Took him about 2 hours and sounds great. Need to change stock speakers.

How is Seicane? I've never heard of anyone that ever used that brand personally. Saw a video on YouTube (The Golden Drive) and he was preaching about this brand. What are your thoughts?

Either he cut your radio antenna or didn't charge you for one, because they are needed for all Z installs.

The kit is optional with older models sense the kit will help the gaping around the new unit. Newer Z models require the kit.

They seem to be well built, I've seen the on a few youtuber channels being installed. I like the fact the site has been up for a while now. The units seem better built as well.

That's why I put the year and model of my car since did not know if there are any differences from year to year. Mine did not need the kit as it looks factory stock the new unit with no gaps anywhere. Maybe since I had the oem stock factory deck, he just disconnected the antenna and plugged it into the android auto deck w no issues.

I'm going for my first head unit install, and went with a Joying. Since I have never done one before is there a guide somewhere, because I have no experience with head unit installs. At first I assumed it was mostly all plug and plug. I'll be doing the install next week and thought i'd come by to look for some guidance, just so there will be minimal issues.

I just installed in my 2015 a Pioneer MVH-2300NEX I highly recommend this unit if you do not care about CD/DVD or Built in NAV. As I too was looking for Android Auto Configuration and this unit works amazing with my Samsung s7 phone. Can PM me If you have any questions its an easy install but i'm also experienced audio installation tech.

I went with a Joying Unit a few years back, order the harness kit from Joying along with the unit and it's simply plug and go. Bonus, no need for the ASWC-1 to get the steering wheel controls working, it worked without it.

I got the bose system in my '13 z. Was directed from joying to crutchfield to get the metra harness 70-7553 and also picked up the aswc-1. Was doing some research yesterday and it looks pretty much match up the ISO harness provided with joying to the Metra 70-7553 harness. The aswc-1 I have yet to touch on yet. Although it'll be my first install, things look simple enough where I won't screw anything up. Would you guys say I got the gist of it? lol

If you need any help let me know, I'm in Toronto, it's a pretty straight forward install, however this starts the audio/video need to update next mod .

I'm going to try it on my own either this afternoon or tomorrow first. Definitely appreciate your offer though. Just one more question about the steering wheel control. Did the harness you got enable you to use the controls without an aswc-1? Trying to understand before I head right into installing the aswc-1.

Yes, I had a spare ASWC-1 for this install but never required it, not sure if it's the harness from Joying or just how the deck works, but the steering wheel controls worked except for the phone buttons. Before the Joying I had a simple JVC double deck which required the AWSC-1, had a horrible time trying to get it to work.

Good luck, and remember to put a towel down to put the shift housing on! made that mistake first time and now I have scratches there .
