Help, Please. Front passenger speakers not working

Recently, my front passenger door and dash speaker stopped working. There was some intermittent crackling for a bit, and I'm getting a low level hum from the dash speaker, but after removing the passenger door panel, it appears as though that speaker isn't getting any power at all.

Initially, I thought I might have just damaged the door speaker when I had some cargo in the front footwell and it slid over and hit the door, but the speaker appears to be undamaged from that. And, with the dash speaker being out as well, it makes me think there is a larger reason.

For reference, I have the bose speakers, but I installed an AVIC-8000NEX for my HU and ran a new amp for my sub box. Rear speakers are still on the factory setup (aside from the HU, and everything in the back is running fine, as are the driver's side door and dash speakers.)

Any thoughts? What should I be looking for?

Sounds like a channel on the amp in your headunit is dead.

If that's the case, I bet there's no way to fix it except to replace the HU... There is only one fuse on the back of that thing, so if it had just blown a fuse I wouldn't be getting anything.

It's only a few years old... piece of crap. (if that is actually what's wrong with it.)

Have you taken your door speaker out and pushed the woofer in? Is it smooth or is it cracking like you have to force it? Is there water built up behind the speaker (normal for a door casing).

Took it to a local shop today. They were able to sort it out.

Apparently, it was actually my fault for wiring it up incorrectly in the first place. I burned out one of boards on the HU. The owner of the shop handled it personally (apparently he has experience with Z cars), pulled out all of the wiring, corrected my mistakes, and rewired it.

$200 never sounded better.

Never sounded better.
