Bluetooth Adaptation Questions

Hello everyone. I have a 2016 Z without the Bose or navigation system.

If there is another thread that covers it, I couldn't find it. Please leave a link and I'll end the thread.

This spring/summer I'm going to upgrade my stereo (with steering wheel control adapter) and add a sub woofer in a small custom box. I've seen some pics that showed the stock Bluetooth module in the hatch area. Can you tap into the original Bluetooth module wiring and use the original mic from the system? I want to have a clean look and adding a mic to my visor kinda ruins what i want to have. Also, does the steering control adapter also work for the phone buttons? The install guides/videos I've seen don't seem to mention it.

Thanks in advance and any additional advice is welcomed!

I believe you can splice into the existing mic. I came across this thread a while ago and saved it for when I get around to upgrading my head unit.

I know there was another thread on splicing into the phone buttons but there is a bit of work with it and something of disconnecting the plug from the Bluetooth module I think.

Hope this helps
