Default Need some radio help

Need a little audio help. Stock Radio/Non Bose/Touring

Had the car for 4 months, previous owner had a an amp that was wired and all plugged in. Sub or enclosure wasnt with the car but the amp and all the wiring was. I ended up pulling the amp and main wires out a while ago.

A few weeks ago i was driving and out of no where the radio shuts off completely. When you press the eject CD button you hear it trying to eject a disk but nothing else works, besides that....its dead. I checked all the fuses that look like they may have anything to do with the radio and reset the ECU....nothing.

I take the radio out and find this thing spliced into the harness. I cut it out and assumed that somehow 2 wires made contact and blew the radio up.

I go to Ebay and buy a cheap stock OEM replacement. I plug it in and get the same result. Nothing works but the eject CD button.

Highly unlikely that the issue was caused by the line converter. Check for voltage on the radio 12v+ ?
