iPad mini help...

Hey all,

I've been researching for hours and hours on doing an iPad mini install in my z.
After researching I can't find any of the information I need.. no one has done a complete DIY on this. Can someone give me links to everything I need for the install? Also does anyone know if I can display oil pressure on the iPad mini?

Thanks for your help..

iPad in the cubby or stereo slot? In the cubby I've seen a few people do it here and shouldn't be that hard, stereo replacement is a little more complex but can be done, I've done the whole tablet stereo replacement in my Sportage but ended up ditching it after the Nexus 7 I was using developed a faulty USB connector.

Yes that's what I want to do. I just need to know a few things like what wifi OBD2 sensor to use, what mounting bracket for the iPad to use, how to run the power for the tablet, how to wire the power cord to the car and how to display oil pressure on the tablet.

Most OBD2 wifi adapters should work fine, power is simple enough as a 12v to usb adapter to the ipad, Torque (available for ipad?) will show the oil pressure.

Unfortunately we don't have oil pressure available through OBD2. The factory oil pressure sensor is actually just a low pressure switch. To get oil pressure you will need to install a sensor and view with a gauge or some other method.

Right on, I still need links to stuff like wire diagram for running the power wire and things like that.

It's not a instructional video but this shows WHAT he's done and he's fairly thorough.

Yes I've seen this video, the install is way to "ghetto" for me.. not clean at all.. I need to find a kit for the dash install and or fab a kit for the dash..

Thanks for the reply,

First off holly hell... $250?? And at that price you still have to use body filer and paint your dash to make it flush?? Is there not a kit that just plug and play??
