Kenwood firmware update froze dnx 893s advice

1 Attachment(s)
Went to do firmware update on my dnx893s unit today, update completed until I would say 99% waited over 45 minutes and screen froze up. Does anybody have any ideas ways to reset unit? I took off negative battery cable didn't work. The unit will power on and off but still comes back to this screen. Kenwood will be getting a call I'm guessing I will have to remove and send unit back

There may be a way to reset everything to factory defaults (often just the proper sequence of buttons, power cycling, etc). Instructions may be in owner's manual.

I don't know about this unit specifically but I didn't do the update for my unit because I read all kinds of horror stories from people who had done theirs and this exact thing happened. My Z already had the unit in from previous owner. I know absolutely nothing about Audio or wiring either. I have DNX 9980HD. From what I read after this happens it must be shipped to Kenwood for them to repair and is $$$$.

Thanks guys I looked all over the owners Manual nothing to be found on a factory reset. Going to root around more and will call kenwoo Tuesday I am sure nobody is there today for the holiday. Considering it's a brand new unit and has a two year warrety I better not have to pay a penny, only had the unit for about two months now.

Got it to work, will be the last update I ever do. Per kenwood their update file was not correct and you needed to have a use drive 8g or less, my 8g did not work I bought 2g from Amazon, redownloaded file from kenwood hooked it up and it worked. I think kenwood changed the file from the first download bc it took a lot longer to put on computer this time.

I do the updates for any head unit HOWEVER it's very nerve racking. Thank God I haven't had one lock up on me yet.
